Computer Networks with Software (QQI Level 5)

In this full-time one-year programme in Computer Networks with Software you will learn about the latest operating systems, computer hardware, software development and networking technologies, coupled with hands on practical experience. In addition, you will gain a strong foundation in cyber security. Students will also have the opportunity to work with staff from the Department of Computer and Software Engineering at Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) to participate in projects involving the real-world applications of the Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Machine Learning and Data Analytics. This LOETB-TUS collaboration promotes problem-based learning while enabling the students to experience the creativity and innovation of a rapidly evolving sector.

Apprenticeship links are available in the areas of Cyber Security Associate, Network Engineering Associate, Software Developer Associate and Telecommunications & Data Network Technician.

€50 QQI Level 5 Certification Fee –   Medical Card holders or those in receipt of a Social Welfare payment are exempt from this Certification Fee.

VTOS: If you are over 21 years of age, are unemployed and have been getting certain social welfare payments for at least 6 months you can apply for the Vocational Training and Opportunities Scheme (VTOS). Successful applicants can receive a VTOS payment for the duration of the course, instead of their social welfare payment. Small meal and travel allowances may also apply
