Course Description
This 2-year part time programme (5M2102) facilitates the learner to explore business subject areas, with emphasis on Accounting. The award will equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence to skill and competence necessary to prepare financial statements for a range of organisations both manually and using integrated accounting software. The learner will also produce and maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a range of organisations, using manual and computerised systems.

Progression
On successful completion of this Programme, learners may progress to the QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Business Management. The QQI Level 5 award facilitates entry, on a competitive basis, to a Higher Certificate in the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Athlone. Learners may also apply to other third-level institutions under the Higher Education Links Scheme, or as a mature learner. The programme will enhance opportunities in securing an apprenticeship in Financial Services, Accounting Technician, or Insurance Practitioner.
Fee
€80 (€20 per module Certification Fee).
Career Options
Holders of a QQI Level 5 Business Studies Certificate may seek employment in a clerical capacity in a wide range of business sectors including banking, HSE, insurance, solicitors, local authorities etc.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard of education. Basic computer experience desirable. Learners will be subject to an online assessment.

Yr 2 Modules: Business Administration
Commencing September 7th, 2023 to 30th May 2024.
